High-Level Delegation Inspects Demining Progress in Al-Geteina, White Nile State

A high-level joint delegation visited JASMAR Human Security Organization's mine action field sites in Al-Geteina, White Nile State, to inspect demining operations and assess their impact on civilian protection and restoring safe land access. Supported by the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF) and implemented under the technical supervision of the National Mine Action Center (NMAC), these efforts aim to clear explosive remnants of war and facilitate early recovery.

In a concerted effort to strengthen coordination and partnership in humanitarian action, JASMAR Human Security Organization organized a field visit for a high-level delegation to inspect demining progress in Al-Geteina Locality, White Nile State. The delegation visited Multi-Task Teams (MTT) active in the Al-Aawaj area and the Um Arada area in Noor El-Din village. The visiting party included Dr. Lamia Abdullah (Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, White Nile State), Col. Samir Omar Hammad (Commander of the Engineer Corps, White Nile State), Lt. Col. Omar Al-Sadiq (Director of Organizations Department, General Intelligence Service, White Nile State), representatives from Military Intelligence and the General Intelligence Service, and Mr. Mohamed Abdel-Salam (JASMAR Director, White Nile State). During the tour, the delegation reviewed survey and clearance progress, community reporting mechanisms, and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) activities, emphasizing how these interventions mitigate risks, secure vital agricultural land and roads, and lay the groundwork for early recovery and safe return. These activities are carried out under two key projects supported by the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF)—one directly implemented by JASMAR (MTT-9) and another implemented in partnership with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) (MTT-8)—all under the technical supervision of the National Mine Action Center (NMAC) and in close coordination with the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC).
