Strengthening the Capacities of Community Protection Networks on Safe Referral in Cases of Gender-Based Violence and Child Protection
As part of continuous efforts to support IDPs in White Nile State as a response to emergency situations and displacement with the UNHCR funded project strengthen the protection environment for the IDPs and host communities in WNS , JASMAR Human Security Organization – White Nile State Office, in cooperation and coordination with the MOHSD Social Development department, organized a training workshop for 90 members of community protection networks ( CBPNs ) and members of administrative committees of multipurpose community centers in Rabak, Guli, and Al-Jabalain localities were trained on the core Gender Based Violence GBV concepts/principles and safe referrals. This was followed by advanced training for 45 members of community protection networks on enhanced referral mechanisms of child protection CP & gender-based violence GBV cases. The training took place from March 8 to 24, 2025. The trainings aimed to enhance understanding of the basic principles and concepts of gender-based violence, enable members of community protection networks to develop their skills in addressing gender-based violence and child protection issues, and strengthen their capacity for safe referrals, this contributing to strengthening the protection services provided to IDPs and host communities in these localities.
