✅ Donor: UNICEF📅 Duration: September 1, 2023 – February 29, 2024📍 Geographical Coverage: Kassala State (Halfa El Jadeeda, Kassala, and Khashm Ghirba localities)🎯 Target Group: 3,000 displaced childrenProject OverviewThis project aims to enhance the well-being, safety, and learning opportunities for 3,000 internally displaced children (IDPs) in Kassala State by providing psycho-social support, education, and recreational activities in child-friendly environments.Key Activities:• Establishing 20 Safe Learning Spaces (SLS):o These gender-responsive, child-friendly spaces provide a secure and supportive environment for displaced children.o They offer inclusive, age-appropriate education for both girls and boys affected by displacement and conflict.• Distributing Education & Child Protection Supplies:o 3,000 children will receive educational and protection materials to ensure continued learning despite school closures.o Recreational materials will be provided to support children’s physical and mental well-being.• Providing Psychosocial Support:o Structured counseling and interventions will be delivered to help children cope with trauma.o Activities focus on life skills, self-expression, and emotional resilience through art, play, and social interaction.Impact & Capacity Building:To strengthen the support system for displaced children, the project also includes:• Training for facilitators and social workers in child protection, psychological support, and life skills education.• Workshops on community-based landmine awareness for facilitators and social workers to educate children on safety measures.Through these efforts, the project aims to foster a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for displaced children, ensuring their well-being, education, and emotional resilience in the face of adversity.📸 Highlights:1️⃣ Displaced children celebrating Sudan’s National Independence Day at an SLS Center.2️⃣ Capacity-building training for facilitators and social workers on life skills education.3️⃣ Training on SLS center management for facilitators.4️⃣ Children engaging in life skills sessions and expressing emotions through drawings.5️⃣ Social workers receiving training in psychosocial support for displaced children.6️⃣ & 7️⃣ Workshop on community-based landmine awareness for displaced children.
