JASMA Completes Upgrades at Al-Rajhi Hospital in Omdurman
JASMA rehabilitated Al-Rajhi Hospital’s well, expanded its solar systems, and installed new lithium batteries, funded by UNHCR.
Khartoum – Ambada Locality
As part of its continuing efforts to strengthen health services and sustain the infrastructure of vital facilities, JASMA for Human Security has announced the completion of rehabilitation and upgrade works at Al-Rajhi Hospital in Ambada Locality, Omdurman, carried out from 10 to 30 June.
These interventions are part of the Strengthening Community Protection for Displaced and Newly Arrived Populations project, generously funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The project aims to improve the quality of medical services and provide a safe, sustainable health environment for host communities and newcomers.
🛠️ Key interventions carried out:
- Maintenance and rehabilitation of the hospital well: Comprehensive maintenance of the well to keep water pumping and ensure a sustainable water supply to all hospital departments.
- Solar power system for the well: The well now runs on a direct solar system, so it operates efficiently without interruption.
- Expansion of the solar power systems: Additional panels were added to the previously installed solar systems to increase the hospital’s electricity generation capacity.
- Installation of new lithium batteries: The storage system was upgraded with modern lithium batteries to keep the power supply stable and to run the facility through the night and during critical hours.
“These targeted interventions directly contribute to the stability of essential health services at Al-Rajhi Hospital and ease the burden on medical staff, residents and newcomers in the area.”
