A graduation ceremony was held in Kassala Locality to celebrate participants who successfully completed the Vocational and Craft Training Programme. This milestone marks an important step towards strengthening their professional capabilities, enhancing their employability, and equipping them to contribute effectively to the labour market and productive sectors.

The programme is part of a project aimed at facilitating access to basic and alternative education for displaced children and children from host communities. It is implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Guidance of Kassala State and funded by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The project seeks to expand access to education and training while developing beneficiaries’ vocational and technical skills. These efforts are designed to strengthen their capacity for self-reliance, prepare them to engage in productive activities, and create broader opportunities for a more stable and promising future.

The graduation ceremony represents the culmination of training and capacity-building efforts aimed at translating acquired skills into practical opportunities that support livelihoods and enhance productivity. It also contributes to the social integration of displaced children and children from host communities through educational and vocational programmes that respond to their needs and support their aspirations.

The programme underscores the importance of partnerships between government institutions and international organizations in supporting alternative education and vocational training. Both are essential tools for empowering targeted groups, expanding their opportunities to participate in economic and social development, and building a future founded on skills development, productivity, and stability.
