Mobile Psychosocial Support and Mental Health Awareness Campaigns

Strengthening Reproductive Health and GBV Services in South Kordofan

JASMAR Human Security Organization – South Kordofan State conducted mobile psychosocial support and mental health awareness campaigns in the western neighborhoods of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan State, including Hajar Al-Nar, Tafri, and Qaar Al-Hajar, as part of the Integrated Reproductive Health Services and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence Project, with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

The campaigns aimed to expand women’s and girls’ access to psychosocial support services through awareness-raising sessions and safe spaces where they could express their feelings and discuss daily stressors and challenges, while also strengthening their knowledge of mental health and available pathways to seek support.

The activities contributed to increasing awareness of mental health, improving women’s and girls’ knowledge of available services and how to access them, strengthening their ability to identify psychosocial support needs, and identifying cases requiring additional services and referring them to the appropriate service providers based on their needs. The campaigns also encouraged women’s and girls’ participation in discussions on mental health and promoted help-seeking in a safe and stigma-free environment.

These campaigns are part of JASMAR’s efforts, in partnership with UNFPA, to expand access to psychosocial support services and strengthen community awareness, particularly among communities facing challenges in accessing essential services.
