A total of 150 adolescent boys and girls in Shagarab Refugee Camp successfully completed a 60-day vocational training program implemented through a partnership between JASMAR Human Security Organization and the Success Skills Center, with support from UNICEF.
The program covered five vocational fields: tailoring and dressmaking, henna and beauty services, solar energy, mobile phone maintenance, and metalwork and welding. It aimed to equip participants with practical skills that would enhance their opportunities for income generation and self-reliance.
Many of the trainees have already begun applying their newly acquired skills. Participants in the henna and beauty course have started offering paid services, while solar energy trainees are now able to install and maintain solar systems. Trainees in mobile phone maintenance and tailoring have also begun providing services within their communities. In addition, participants in the metalwork and welding course successfully produced a range of household furniture, including beds, tables, doors, and windows.
The program demonstrates the positive impact of vocational training in transforming skills into real opportunities for employment and productivity, contributing to a brighter future for young people.
